Litton Cheney is a pretty, peaceful village in the Bride
valley - its name relates to the fast flowing stream which
runs through the village. There are some wonderfully picturesque
thatched and slate roofed ancient cottages , a 13th century
church and a village inn . The village is 3 miles from the
spectacular heritage coast between Abbotsbury and West Bay
surrounded by stunning countryside abounding in walks and
bridle paths.
It is perfectly situated to explore the surrounding Hardy countryside with its Roman and ancient historic sites. Dorchester (the Casterbridge
of Hardy`s novels) is a thriving market town 10 miles to
the east and Bridport is 6 miles to the west.
